A camping toilet eliminates a basic fear people have when heading out on a camping trip, that fear being “I hope the campground toilets will be clean!”. Most campgrounds offer personal amenities, not all, but when they aren’t well maintained they may as well not even be there.
A camping toilet can be as simple as a bucket and as complicated as a full enclosure depending on your needs and the locations in which you enjoy camping. On a busy weekend when campgrounds are often full a bucket just won’t do and a lineup at the john is often not a pleasant experience. A camping toilet can be peace of mind.
Bumper Dumper is an example of a go anywhere camping toilet, it’s patented and distributed by Steps Enterprises Inc. I first saw it on the Jay Leno show and it really is a fun invention. The concept is simple, a toilet seat with a detachable bucket or bag is fastened to a standard bumper hitch. When attached to your truck or car the unit is sturdy and anyone gazing from a distance would likely think you’re just sitting on the bumper.
Portable Camping Toilets, sometimes referred to as a porta potty, employ a compact design that folds away much like the average lawn chair. The portable camp toilet can be deployed almost anywhere and several features are available such as waterless, chemical and sealed. The biggest benefit in owning a portable camping toilet is the ease in taking care of waste management after the fact.
