Toilet Seat Up or Down?

What is the toilet seat situation in your bathroom? Does the toilet seat always need to be left down toilet seat cover and all? Perhaps just leaving the toilet seat down is enough? Or does your home have rules to the contrary in which a small verbal war is inevitable whenever the toilet seat isn’t left up?

Toilet Seat Up or Down?

I’d love to hear your feedback on this question. Against my better judgment in being heard on this particularly touchy subject of toilet seat etiquette I’d like to share a possible middle ground. How’s this… Men, always put the toilet seat down when finished and Women why not always leave it up when you’ve finished as well? If everyone always leaves the toilet seat ready for the next person perhaps a state of bliss can be achieved??

If you don’t like that suggestion feel free to tell me why, I’m more than aware that women get the dirty end of both deals, with the toilet seat up or down, so is it too much to ask that women take an active part in the solution as well? if it is… chains are looking good aren’t they?

this is kinda stupid. because the answer to this question is obvious. guys like the toilet seat UP so that they don’t have to lift it up when they pee. girls like the toilet seat DOWN so that they don’t fall in accidentally.

so… i understand the “topic” of this entry,” but any debate around it is useless, because everyone already understands the dilemma

Thanks for the comment James, I think you missed the point (or I didn’t make it clear). Everyone knows what boys and girls like but boys and girls have been known to like each other too so when they live together… how do you keep everyone happy in YOUR house?

We always leave it down. Over time men have learnt that picking a fight over the toilet seat is not worth it

But don’t the fights still happen over “dribble” ? hehe

Leave it down for sanitary reasons. Studies show that when left opened and flushed, an aerosol spray (of urine and fecal matter) will spread 6-8 ft.
