Bemis toilet seat success began in 1932 when Albert Bemis (pronounced BEE’mus) looked to expand his companies portfolio of products during the great depression. Albert knew that he had to adapt and provide what customers needed at prices they could afford, when an opportunity to purchase a failed company presented itself Albert made his move into the market.
Interesting fact: In 1939 toilet seat hinges were made of brass and when war efforts required brass to make shell casings Albert Bemis adapted his product by being the first to bring the plastic hinge to the toilet seat industry. Leadership and innovation are evident in Bemis history.
